our mission our team our story gallery donate WHE vzw was founded in Aug 2022 and officially registered as a non-for-profit organization in Belgium in Aug 2023. We first met our beneficiaries through the works of a philanthropic social influencer/choreographer, who would go to the streets of Nairobi and cheerfully dance for them and give them some goody bags. We made contact with him and took the opportunity to donate wheelchairs to those we had selected, whenever he would go out to meet them. We got the wheelchairs from a local supplier who was importing standard wheelchairs into the country (Kenya), since we could not immediately find a local organization to supply us with quality wheelchairs. Shortly after, through family, we bought foam and fabric and had several cushions made. We knew that if we were to rely on the standard wheelchairs, we had to make them more comfortable to avoid secondary injuries. We would later donate these to APDK, Nairobi branch. We were glad to make contact with APDK in Aug 2023 as from them we can now provide our beneficiaries with quality and safe wheelchairs and mobility aids.
